What is the Alexander Technique?

A technique,

  • with which we learn to use our body optimally
  • with which most of our waist, back, shoulder and neck-aches are relieved - which lends us better gait and demeanour, and makes us more confident
  • which was specially designed for Western people by its eponymous developer, (it is also referred to as the yoga of the west)

The majority of muscle skeletal pain is the results of bad posture, stress and adverse lifestyle, not diseases. Approximately 70% of headaches can be traced to muscle stiffness in the neck. The accumulating muscle tension shortens the spine, restricts movement and the joints lose some of their flexibility. So the resulting pain is - often mistakenly - attributed to aging.

Unfortunately, there are more young people who have problems of posture or spinal diseases due to inappropriate use of their body.
